SAE 5409 Heat Treatments

  • Solution heat treated by heating to 2050°F ± 25 (1120°C ± 15) in a vacuum or suitable protective atmosphere, holding at heat for 2 hr ± 0.25, and cooling at a rate equivalent to air cool or faster. Precipitation heat treated by heating to 1550°F ± 25 (845°C ± 15), holding at heat for 24 hr ± 0.25, and cooling to room temperature.
