SAE Hastelloy X Heat Treatments
- After being heated to 802 ± 6°C (1475 ± 10°F), held at heat for 50 ± 1 hour, and cooled to room temperature casting hardness shall be not higher than 24 HRC.
Elevated temperature tensile properties: Separately cast specimens shall heated to and tested at 816 ± 3°C (1500 ± 5°F). - It is recommended that the tubing should be solution heat treated by heating in a suitable protective atmosphere to 1177 ± 14°C (2150 ± 25°F), and holding at heat for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cooling rapidly.
In no case shall the solution heat treatment temperature be lower than 1149°C (2100°F)
