GB TC16 Heat Treatments


  • Plates: Annealing in the range 680-790°C/15-120 min, air cooling. After air cooling, re-heating in the range 530-580°C/2-12h, air cooling.
    Forged bars: Annealing in the range 770-790°C/60-120 min, air cooling after furnace cooling. Furnace cooling up to 550°C with the cooling rate 2-4°C/min. in the vacuum furnace cooling to 500°C with the rate 2-4°C/min. Than air cooling.
    Stress relief annealing: from 550 to 650°C, holding time 30 to 240 min, furnace or air cooling or inert atmosphere.
    Forged bars, castings: Solution treated in the range 780-830°C/20-150 min, water quenching.
    Solution heat treatment: Aging in the range 500-580°C/4-10h, than cooling in air or furnace or inert atmosphere.
