SAE Ti-8Al-1Mo-1V Heat Treatments
- Annealed: 593° +/- 14°C for 30 to 60 minutes; Duplex annealed: 538° +/- 14°C for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Bars and forgings shall be duplex annealed
Solution heat treatment: Heated to a temperature within the range 899°C to 1010°C (1650°F to 1850°F), held at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F ) for time commensurate with section thickness and the heating equipment and procedure used, and cooled at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster.
Stabilization heat treatment: Heated to 595°C ± 14°C (1100°F ± 25°F) held for not less than 8 hours, and cooled at a rate equivalent to air cooling.
