IS 5438 Heat Treatments
- Solution 430 +/- 5°C for 8 h (min). Quench in oil at 160°C (max). Solution 440 +/- 5°C for 8 h (min), then raise the temperature to 495 +/- 5°C and hold for 8 h (min). Quench in oil at 160°C, (Casting shall not remain in the oil for more than 1 h and then quench in oil at room temperature or cool in air).
