- Solution heat treated: 1177 - 1246°C (2150 - 2275°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for a time commensurate with section thickness but not less than 20 minutes, and water quenching or otherwise rapidly cooling.
- Solution heat treated by heating to a temperature within the range 1177 - 1246°C (2150 - 2275°F), holding at the selected temperature within ± 14°C (± 25°F) for a time commensurate with section thickness, and cooling rapidly.
