- Heat to 843 - 899°C (1550° - 1650°F) for 2 h minimum and quenched in water.
Temper at 482 - 538°C (900 - 1000°F) for 2 h minimum and air cool to room temperature.
Heat treatment is not mandatory for sections that exceed 300 mm [12 in.] in diameter or thickness.
