SAE HM31A Heat Treatments
- Extrusions shall be precipitation heat treated by heating to 425°F ± 10 (220°C ± 5), holding at heat for 16 hr ± 0.5, and cooling in air; At 600°F (315 °C), heated to 600°F ± 5 (315°C ± 2), held at heat for 20 - 30 min., and tested at 600°F ± 5 (315°C ± 2).
