SAE Ti-3Al-2.5V Heat Treatments
- Annealed: Heating to a temperature within the range 649 to 788°C (1200 to 1450°F), holding at the selected temperature within ±14°C (±25°F) for a time commensurate with the thickness and the heating equipment and procedure used, and cooling as required.
- Cold worked and stress relieved by heating to a temperature not lower than 371°C (700°F) and holding at heat for not less than 30 minutes. Tubing that is rotary straightened after final reduction shall be stress relieved at a minimum temperature of 371°C (700°F) for not less than 2 hours after straightening. Heat treatment operations shall be performed in vacuum or inert gas.
