SAE 713.0 Heat Treatments
- Temper T5
Sand Castings
Precipitation Heat Treated at 121 ± 6°C (250 ± 10°F), 16 hours.
Permanent Mold Castings
Precipitation Heat Treated at 121 ± 6°C (250 ± 10°F), 16 hours.
May be held at room temperature for 21 days in lieu of precipitation heat treatment. - Aging (precipitation heat treatment):
Condition before Aging F (as cast);
Aging at 121°C (250°F), soak time is 16 minimum hours;
Temper T5 after Aging.
Aging (precipitation heat treatment):
Condition before Aging F (as cast);
Aging at room temperatuire, soak time is 21 days minimum;
Temper T5 after Aging.
