SS Al Mg0,5Si Heat Treatments
- Thermoforming at 420 - 380°C, free cooling
Soft annealing at 380 - 420°C, fast heating. Hold time about 30 minutes after heat warming. Cooling should take place slowly and preferably in an oven to about 250°C, then free cooling.
Solution treatment at 530 ± 10°C, fast heating. Hold time about 15 minutes after heat warming. Cooling in cold water or water mist.
Cold aging at room temperature, hold time about 48 h.
Warm aging at 180 ± 5°C, holding time about 5 h, free cooling. Best durability is achieved if the material gets cold aged 24 hours prior to the aging process.
