PROPRIETARY X33CrS16 Heat Treatments
- Hot forming at 1050 - 850°C, followed by preheating to 800°C and then heating up to 1000 - 1050°C for quenching in oil or polymer, producing a hardness of HRC 48. After quenching, the steel is tempered at 150 - 200°C.
Soft annealing can be done at 760 - 780°C with slow furnace cooling to obtain max 230 HB.
