GOST S34709 Heat Treatments
- For cold-formed pipes: ≥ 1100°C, quenching in water or accelerated cooling by other means
For hot-formed pipes: ≥ 1050°C, quenching in water or accelerated cooling by other means;
Heat treatment at temperatures above 1065°C may impair their resistance to intercrystalline corrosion. - Annealed at > 1040°C, quenching in water or accelerated cooling by other means.
Solution annealing at temperatures above 1065°C may degrade the intergranular corrosion resistance after further exposure to sensitizing conditions. At customer's request, solution annealing at high temperatures may be followed by re-annealing or stabilization at a lower temperature.
