PROPRIETARY XM-27 Heat Treatments

  • Annealing to soften: 730-845ºC (1346-1553ºF), 1 hour, rapid cool.
    Cooling: Rapid cool to avoid 475ºC (885ºF) embrittlement. Minimize exposure times at 426-593ºC (800-1100ºF).
    Hydrogen annealing for magnetic properties: 1177ºC (2150ºF), 4 hours, cool at 83ºC (181ºF)/hr in dry hydrogen.
