Heat Treatments

  • <b>Hardening</b> at 1150°C, cooling in air.<br /><b>Tempering</b> at 730°C to 780°C, holding at least 60 minutes, cooling in still air.<br />The material can be cold and hot formed.<br /><b>Hot forming</b> should be carried out in the range 1200°C to 850°C. <br />For <b>cold-bent</b> pipes with an outside diameter < 76.1 mm, no heat treatment is required for Rm/Da > 1.8. If Rm/Da < 1.8, stress relief annealing must be carried out.<br />For <b>cold-bent</b> pipes with an outside diameter > 76.1 mm, no heat treatment is required for Rm/Da > 3. If Rm/Da < 3, stress relief annealing must be carried out.
