ASME SA-487 Grade 17 Class A Heat Treatments
- Castings shall be heat treated as follows:
Double austenitized at 865°C (1590°F), liquid quenched below 260°C (500°F) and intermediate and final tempered at 590°C (1095°F) minimum. Preliminary heat treatment prior to final heat treatment as well as multiple tempering is permitted. Heat treatment shall be performed after the castings have been allowed to cool below the transformation range.
