PROPRIETARY TPM558 Heat Treatments

  • Soft Annealing: Soft annealing at 860°C - 900°C for 3 - 5h in a protective atmosphere, followed by slow cooling down to 500°C at 10°C/h, and then air-cooling out of the furnace.
    Stress-Relief Annealing: Heating to 750°C - 800°C for 2h, then air-cooling out of the furnace.
    Recommended temperatures of heat treatment:
    Single-Edge Cutter: quenching temperature 1180 - 1200°C; tempering temperature 540 - 560°C
    Multi-Edge Cutter: quenching temperature 1160 -1180°C; tempering temperature 540 - 560°C
    Mold: quenching temperature 1140 - 1160°C; tempering temperature 540 - 560°C
