IS HS2-9-2 Heat Treatments
- Austenitized at 1200 ± 10°C and quenched. Usual quenching media in practice are air, gas or salt bath. Total heating time of test pieces in a salt bath is 3 minutes for hardening and minimum 2 periods of 60 minutes each for tempering.
Tempered at minimum 560 ± 10°C.
