- Stress relieving:
1. Temperature: Approx. 300 °C in the normalised state
2. Duration: 1 hour per 50 mm wall thickness
3. Cooling: Furnace
Soft annealing:
1. Temperature: 710°C
2. Duration: 1 hour per 25 mm wall thickness
3. Cooling: Furnace
Hardening
1. Temperature: 840 °C
2. Duration: 30 seconds per mm wall thickness
Quenching hardness: Max. 57 HRC: in oil or air
Tempering:
1. Temperature: See tempering curve
2. Duration: 1 hour per 25 mm wall thickness
3. Cooling: Air
Working hardness: 46–57 HRC
