VdTÜV 15 MnNi 6 3 Heat Treatments
- Normalizing: heat from 880 to 960°C. After reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section, cool down on still air.
Stress relieving: heat from 530 to 580°C. Holding time (according to DIN 17 014 Part 1) at least 30 min. In the case of multiple heating, however, the soaking time and holding time are not covered for longer than according to Section 10.4. Cool down in still air. Annealing temperatures of 580 to 620°C are possible with the approval of the expert.
Hot forming: heat to at least the lowest temperature for normal annealing (880°C). Hot forming is to be carried out in the temperature range between 750 and 1050°C. The component should not be heated above 980 °C before the last step of hot forming or before a single hot forming step. If hot forming is carried out in several steps, intermediate cooling below 500 °C is required before the last step. In the case of hot forming outside the specified temperature range and hot forming with local heating, normal annealing of the entire component is required.
Cold forming: temperature range from room temperature to 580°C. - Normalizing: heat from 880 to 960°C. After reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section, cool down on still air.
Stress relieving: heat from 530 to 580°C. Holding time (according to DIN 17 014) at least 30 min. In case of multiple annealing, holding time should not be higher than 150 min. Cool down in still air. Annealing temperatures of 580 to 620°C are possible with the approval of the expert.
Hot forming: temperature range between 750 and 1050°C. After hot forming, the product must be normalized.
