KS SGV 235 Heat Treatments

  • Plate 38 mm and under in thickness shall be delivered as rolled, unless the purchaser specifies normalization of the steel plate for improving the absorption energy. For the convenience of the manufacturer, however, the plate may be normalized. Plate over 38 mm in thickness shall be normalized to obtain normal grain size, or heated uniformly, in process of hot forming, at such normalizing temperature that will ensure effect equal to the above. The foregoing normalizing process shall include accelerated cooling to improve the absorption energy and the subsequent tempering.
