PROPRIETARY UGIMA 4005 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: 745°C - 825°C (for several hours), slow air cooling
Quenching: 950°C - 1000°C, air or oil cooling.
Tempering: Temperature depends on the mechanical properties needed. It is better to avoid temperatures between 400°C and 550°C which induce a toughness decreaser.
Forging: Heating temperature between 1150°C - 1220°C, forging at 950°C - 1220°C, slow cooling rate after forging (furnace or vermiculite).
