DTD 5232 Heat Treatments


  • Solution treatment: Heat at a temperature between 810°C and 830°C for a time of between 30 minutes and 60 minutes per 25 mm of section or not less than 30 minutes, whichever is the greater, and cool in air.
    Final heat treatment: Marage by heating at a temperature of 485°C±10°C for not less than 3 hours and cool in air.
    The steel shall not be fully heat treated more than three times.
