PROPRIETARY CarTech SIL No.1 Valve Steel Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heated at 760-788°C (1400-1450°F), air cooled or water quenched.
Hardening: Heated at 1010-1052°C (1850-1925°C), oil quenched.
Forging: Can be readily forged by both upset and extrusion methods at 1038-1149°C (1900-2100°F). Forgings should be slowly cooled from forging heat.
