TCVN 27MnCrB5-2 Heat Treatments
- Hardening at 880-920°C (Temperatures at the lower end of the range are generally used for water, and those at the upper end for oil quenching; Time for austenitizing as a guide: at least 30 min.)
Quenching agent: Water or oil (When choosing the quenching agent, the influence of other parameters, such as shape, dimensions and quenching temperature, on properties and crack susceptibility, should be taken into account. Other quenching agents such as synthetic quenchants may also be used.)
Tempering at 400-600°C (Time for tempering as a guide: at least 60 min.)
End quench test austenitizing at 900 ± 5°C (Time for austenitizing as a guide: 30-35 min.)
The given conditions are for guidance. However, the temperatures specified for the end quench test are mandatory.
