SEW C 60 W3 Heat Treatments
- Normalizing: Heated at 820°C.
Soft annealing: Slowly heated at 680-710°C for 4 hours, slowly cooled, if possible in the furnace (to at least 500°C).
Hardening in water: Slowly heated at 770-800°C, quenched in water. The quenching water should be 20-30°C and not colder than 20°C.
Hardening in oil: Slowly heated at 800-830°C, oil quenched.
Stress relief annealing: Slowly heated at 600-650°C for 1-2 hours, slowly cooled in furnace.
