ASTM A 182 F 115 Heat Treatments
- After hot working, forgings shall be cooled to a temperature below 538°C (1000°F) prior to heat treating.
Normalizing and tempering: austenitizing/solution heat treatment temperature 1049 - 1099°C (1920 - 2010°F), air cooling, accelerated air cooling, or liquid. Tempering temperature 749 - 791°C (1380 - 1455°F).
