ASTM A 335 Grade P115 Heat Treatments
- Normalized in range 1050 - 1100°C (1920 - 2010°F) and tempered in range 750 - 790°C (1380 - 1455°F). Accelerated cooling from the normalizing temperature shall be permitted for section thicknesses greater than 75 mm.
It is recommended that the temperature for tempering should be at least 50°C (100°F) above the intended service temperature; consequently, the purchaser should advise the manufacturer if the service temperature is to be over 600°C (1100°F).
After weld repair, shall be heat treated at 730 - 780°C (1345 - 1435°F).
