SAE 420FSe Heat Treatments


  • Product 12.70 mm and under in nominal thickness and 12.70 mm ± 0.25 mm thick specimens cut from larger bars and forgings shall have hardness not lower than 50 HRC, or equivalent after being heated to 996°C ± 14°C (1825°F ± 25°F), held at heat for 30 minutes ± 3 minutes, and cooled in still air.
