IS 347 Heat Treatments


  • Solution annealing at 1000 - 1120°C, air cooling or water quenching.
  • Austenitic stainless steel pipes/tubes are to be supplied in solution annealed condition. The heat treatment procedure shall consist of reheating the material to the minimum temperature of 1040°C, followed by quenching in water or rapidly cooled by other means as appropriate to meet the requirements of this specification.
