ASME SA-336 Grade F6NM Heat Treatments


  • Forgings shall be annealed or normalized and tempered but alternatively may be liquid quenched and tempered when mutually agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser. Austenitizing temperature shall be 1010°C (1850°F) minimum. Normalizing or liquid quenching shall be followed by tempering at a range of 560 - 600°C (1040 - 1120°F).
