ASME SA 182 F 70 Heat Treatments
- After hot working, forgings shall be cooled to a temperature below 538°C (1000°F) prior to heat treating.
Solution treated and quenched at min. 1040°C (1900°F), liquid cooled. The cooling media shall be quenching in water or rapidly cooling by other means.
Quenching cool below 260°C (500°F).
