PROPRIETARY SITHERM 2574 Heat Treatments

  • Soft Annealing: Heat to 820 - 840°C, cool slowly in furnace. Holding time 4 - 6 hours. Stress Relieving: should be carried out by heating to 650oC, holding for one hour at heat, followed by slow cooling. Time is 1 - 2 hours. Hardening: Harden from a temperature of 960 - 1050°C followed by water or oil quenching. Tempering: 560 - 700°C. Nitriding: possible, preheating before use: 200 - 300°C, absolutely necessary.
