PROPRIETARY 100CrMnMoSi8-4-6 Heat Treatments


  • Hot-forming: 1050 - 880°C. Pre-heating: 500°C, stop in furnace then 850 - 880°C. Bainitic hardening: 850 - 880°C, salt bath 230 - 250°C. Tempering (+T): 160 - 400°C, calm air. Stress relief annealing (+SR): 560 - 650°C, air. Stress relief annealing must be carried out after machining and before final heat treatment. Normalizing (+N): 880 - 910°C, air. Soft annealing - Prior the annealing, Normalizing is recommended (+A): 820°C cooling to 740°C, pause, cooling to 690°C, pause, then air. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 870°C in oil.
