PROPRIETARY 58CrV4 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming at 1050 to 850°C.
Normalizing (+N) at 850°C to 880°C, air.
Quenching (+Q) at 830 to 850°C, oil or polymer.
Tempering (+T) 480 to 650°C, air.
Stress-relief annealing 150 to 200°C, air.
Soft annealing (+A) 680 to 720°C furnace cooling.
Annealing for springs at 680 to 720°C, furnace cooling.
Quenching for springs 820 to 850°C oil or polymer.
Tempering for springs at 430 to 500°C, air.
Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 840°C in oil. - Hardening: 820 - 860°C (oil);
Soft annealing: 680 - 720°C;
Normalize: 850 - 880°C.
