PROPRIETARY 56Si7 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming at 1050 to 850°C.
Normalizing at 870°C, air.
Quenching on spring 840 to 870°C, oil or polymer.
Tempering at 400 to 480, air.
Hot moulding of springs at 900 to 820°C.
Soft annealing at 680°C, air.
Isothermal annealing at 820°C, furnace cooling to 720°C, than air.
End quench hardenability at 850°C, water.
After quenching at 860°C in oil and tempering at 450°C in air.
Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 860°C in oil. - Hot forginig: soaking between 850-1050°C, cooling in air slow
Normalizing: soaking between 850-880°C, cooling in air
Soft annealing: annealing at 650-690°C, cooling in air
Hardening: soaking at 840-870°C, quenching in oil.
