PROPRIETARY 36NiCrMo16 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1100 - 900°C. Normalizing: 850°C, air cooling. Quenching: 880°C, air cooling. Quenching: 830 - 860°C, oil, polymer, water or s.b. (500). Tempering: 550 - 650°C, air cooling. Soft annealing: 650°C, air cooling. Full annealing: 790°C, furnace cooling. End quench hardenability test: 825°C, water cooling. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 850°C in oil. Values for forged rounds from mechanical and elevated properties quenched at 870°C, in water, tempered at 590°C, air.
