PROPRIETARY 23MnB4 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1150 - 850°C. Normalizing (N+): 880 - 900°C, air cooling. Core hardenability (+CH): 880°C, oil, polymer, water cooling. Tempering (+T): 420 - 630°C, air cooling. Stress-relieving (+SR): 50°C under the temperature of tempering. Soft annealing (+A): 700°C, air cooling. Isothermal annealing (+I): 860 - 880°C, cooling to 700°C then air. Spheroidizing (+AC): 690 - 700°C, air cooling. End quench hardenability test: 880°C, water cooling. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperautres obtaind after quenching at 880°C in water.
