PROPRIETARY 40CrMoV4-6 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming: 1100 - 950°C. Normalizing: 880 - 900°C, air cooling. Quenching (+Q): 900 - 930°C, oil or polymer cooling. Tempering (+T): 650 - 720°C, air cooling. Stress-relieving (+SR): 50°C under the temperature of tempering. Soft annealing (+A): 680 - 730°C, air cooling. Isothermal annealing: 880°C, furnace cooling to 730°C, then air. Annealing: 830°C slow furnace cooling. Quenching: 930°C, oil cooling and Stress-relieving: 200°C, air cooling. Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 925°C in oil.
