PROPRIETARY 16NiCr11 Heat Treatments
- Hot-forming at 1100 to 900°C.
Normalizing at 850°C, air.
Core hardening at 830 to 860°C, oil, polymer, salt bath.
Carburizing at 880 to 900°C.
Hardening carburizing surf. at 790 to 820°C, oil, polymer, salt bath.
Tempering at 150 to 200°C.
Soft annealing at 680°C, frunace cooling.
Isothermal annealing at 820°C, furnace cooling to 620°C, tha air.
End quench hardenability at 850°C, water.
Pre-heating welding (welding must be carried out on the annealed state and before carburizing) at 150 to 350°C.
Stress-relieving after welding at 600°C furnace cooling.
Mechanical properties at different tempering temperatures obtained after quenching at 840°C in oil.
Quenching at 850-860°C in oil.
Tempering at 150-180°C.
