VdTÜV Thor 115 Heat Treatments

Hardening and tempering
Normalized at 1060-1100°C, cooled in still air
Tempered at 750-790°C, held 3 minutes/mm, 30 minutes minimum (the holding time begins when the temperature is reached over the whole cross section)

Stress relief annealing after welding at 740-770°C, holding time:
for wt < 8 mm, 30 minutes
for 8 mm ≤ wt ≤ 16 mm, 60 minutes. Maximum holding time: 4 h

Stress relief annealing after cold forming at 650 to 750°C. Holding time 2 minutes/mm, 60 minutes minimum. Maximum holding time: 4 h.
If the holding time for stress relieving exceeds 4 h, the manufacturer shall be contacted.

Hot forming in the range 750-1100°C
The steel can be cold formed.
