GOST X 5 CrNiMo 17 13 Heat Treatments
- Solutionizing: 1020-1120°C, water quench or rapid air cool.
- Solid solution treated at 1020-1120°C, water or air cooled.
When heat treating in a continuous furnace, it is recommended to maintain the furnace temperature close to or above the upper limit of the established range.
If heat treatment of pipes after delivery is expected, it is recommended to use temperatures close to the lower limit of the established range. If during hot deformation the temperature does not fall below the established lower limit, reheating is recommended at the following temperatures: 980°C for steels that do not contain molybdenum; 1000°C for steels with a molybdenum mass fraction equal to or less than 3%; 1020°C for steels with a molybdenum mass fraction greater than 3%.
