MIL S-46172A Heat Treatments


  • The minimum heat treat process shall consist of normalizing, austenitizing, quenching in an agitated liquid and tempering. The heat treatment shall be applied to the whole of the forging and never to a portion only, except when localized heat treating is specified in the drawing.
