MS ISO 2892/JSA/XNi20Cr2 Heat Treatments


  • The recommended stress-relief heat treatment is as follows: a) heat up to between 625°C and 650°C at a rate not exceeding 150°C/h; b) hold within this temperature range for 2 h plus 1 h, per 25 mm section thickness; c) cool down to 200°C in the furnace, at a rate not exceeding 100°C/h; d) air cool; The recommended high-temperature stabilising (for a static or cyclic elevated temperature service at 500°C or above) heat treatment is as follows: a) heat up to between 875°C and 900°C at a rate not exceeding 150°C/h; b) hold within this temperature range for 2 h plus 1 h, per 25 mm section thickness; c) cool down to 500°C in the furnace, at a rate not exceeding 50°C/h. d) air cool.
