- Quenching: 820-860°C; Quenching agent: Oil or water; Tempering: 540-680°C; Time for tempering, as a guide: 1h minimum; Time for austenitising, as a guide: 0.5h minimum. Quenching temperature (hardenability): 840 ± 5°C.
