VdTÜV 15NiCuMoNb5-6-4 Heat Treatments
- Quenching and tempering: Normalizing or hardening at 880-960°C. After reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section, air cooled. For product with t > 150 mm (if necessary > 100 mm) quenched in water or oil.
Tempered at 580-680°C, held for minimum 30 minutes, cooled in air. - Normalizing or hardening from 880 - 980°C, after reaching the temperature in the entire cross-section, air cooling or in water or oil. Tempering from 580 - 680°C, holding period at least 30 min, cooling in air; Heat treatment after welding, stress relieving from 530 - 620°C, for t <= 15 mm (min. 15 min), for 15 < t <= 30 mm (min. 30 min), for 30 < t <= 150 mm (approx. 60 min), cooling in air.
