VdTÜV EStE 420 Heat Treatments
- The expedient for normalizing temperatures depend on the chemical composition of the steel. The temperature may be different depending on the manufacturer even when the same type of steel, but is generally in the range from 880 to 960°C. The stress relief is performed in the temperature range between 530°C and 580°C. The holding period totals (even if several operations) more than 150 min. For a holding period over 90 min is the lower limit of desirable temperature range.
