NMX B-181 Grade P91 Heat Treatments

  • Normalized at range 1040 - 1080°C or quenched and tempered at range 1040 - 1080°C (when mutually agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser, quenching and tempering shall be permitted for thicknesses greater than 75 mm) and annealed or tempering at range 730 - 800°C minimum. Grade P91 shall be normalized and tempered at a temperature, to be specified by the purchaser, less than 730°C. It shall be purchaser’s responsibility to subsequently temper at 730-800°C.
