AISI 309 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heating to 1038-1121°C (1900-2050°F). Stress relieving between 468 ± 13.9°C (875 ± 25°F) and 816°C (1500°F) is prohibited. Stress relieving should be at 899°C (1650°F) for 1 hour; water quenching.
- Solutionizing shall consist of heating the material to a minimum temperature of 1040°C followed by quenching in water or rapidly cooling by other means.
