MIL 9Ni-4Co-0.3C Heat Treatments
- Normalizing temperature range 1625-1675°F, air quenched; Annealing temperature range 1250-1150°F. Duplex annealed - hold 4 hrs. +/-0.25 hrs. at 1250°F +/-25°F, air cool to room temperature, then reheat to 1150+/-25°F and hold for 8 hrs. +/- 0.25hrs and air cool to room temperature. (Recommended subcritical anneal temperature is 1250°F); Austenitizing temperature range 1475-1525°F; Medium for quenching: oil. Cool to -100°F for 1 hour minimum within 2 hours after quenching and before tempering.
